How To Lose A Girl In 10 Dates: Episode 1
Here’s a short list of people worth listening to when it comes to the tricky business of dating and relationships: Cupid, AskMen’s dating columnist Scarlett Russell and, um… Will Smith (in Hitch that is, The Fresh Prince – not so much).
The list of people not to listen to when it comes to love however, is much, much longer. But somewhere near the top, in and amongst your own mother and yourself-while-drunk-at-3am, you’ll find erstwhile dater and full-time funnyman, Jon Richardson.
Basing entire stand-up shows around his haphazard, club-footed and entirely self-destructive endeavours when it comes to romance – he’s not exactly what we would call a professional in the dating game. Come to think of it, he’s barely Sunday League.
On the other hand, when it comes advising the crestfallen and broken hearted among us on just how to rip the pin off a dating grenade and hurl it squarely towards relationship suicide: enter Jon Richardson.
And now, fully embracing his role as a lifetime singleton, Jon wants you to join him. Why waste time, money and all those tears on relationships when you can rid yourself of ‘useless’ things like love, affection and happiness forever, and live the rest of your life as miserable as him?
(On second thought, as a duty of care to our readers, we’d like to attach a do not try this at home warning to this series. AskMen accepts no responsibility for any failed dates, relationships or lives as a result of How To Lose A Girl In 10 Dates, with Jon Richardson.)
In episode one (above), dating Yoda Jon takes you through some of the things you really shouldn’t (and therefore should) wear on dates. As well as coining potentially the best word of all time: ‘Thermameter’.
Be sure to come back next week for more terrible dating advice from Jon. But until then, in the words of the man himself: “You’re welcome, and enjoy your life alone.”
