Amid the tragic ongoing fires in Australia, there is some strange philanthropic news involving fundraising for relief efforts. Model Kaylen Ward says she raised more than $700,000 for Australian fire relief efforts by offering nude photos of herself in exchange for donations.
On Jan. 3, Ward tweeted the offer on her account, where she has accumulated more than 338,000 followers.
“I’m sending nudes to every person who donates at least $10 to any one of these fundraisers for the wildfires in Australia,” Ward tweeted. “Every $10 you donate = one nude picture from me to your DM.”
The model’s tweet offering nude photos in exchange for donations went viral on Twitter, gaining more than 85,000 retweets and more than 214,000 likes. Ward promptly changed her display name to The Nude Philanthropist on Twitter.

Ward has sold nudes before as an online sex worker. However, she tells Buzzfeed News that seeing the lack of media attention on the severity of the Australian fires—and therefore lack of donations to relief efforts—made her turn her personal business ventures into a new sort of philanthropy.
“I was expecting to raise maybe $1,000, but the tweet blew up,” she tells Buzzfeed News.
The tweet became so popular that Ward had to hire a team of four people to help her sort through thousands upon thousands of DMs, verify the legitimacy of donations, and reply with the promised nude.
But no good deed goes unpunished. Ward reports her Instagram account was deactivated because of posting the offer on the platform. She also says her family and love interest disowned her for the act.
“My IG got deactivated, my family disowned me, and the guy I like won’t talk to me all because of that tweet,” she tweeted on Jan. 4 “But fuck it, save the koalas.”
