SEX POSITIONS: These moves burn the most calories
A steamy romp isn’t just good fun, it’s also a form of exercise.
In fact, studies have shown that men will burn 200 calories every 60 minutes in bed – which is the same amount as a yoga session.
But ladies will burn a little less energy with the typical woman burning 138 calories an hour – the same as walking a dog.
So if you want another excuse to ditch the treadmill, clinical sexologist Sunny Rogers has given her top five best sex positions to InStyle.

1. Missionary hip dips
Although this sex position does have a bit of a vanilla reputation, adding a simple twist will definitely raise the heat.
Instead of lying flat on the bed, tilt your hips up and forward, so your pelvis gets closer to your lover’s body every time he thrusts.
Make sure you engage your core and hip flexors, which allows you to burn more calories and even strengthens your abs.
2. The squat
The woman will be on top in this position, so you’re already working your body hard.
It’s like doing squats or wall-sits with your quads, hamstrings and glutes working overtime to keep you balanced.
3. Engaged doggy style
Traditional doggy style sees your partner doing all the hard work but by having him stay still while you thrust from your hips and butt, you can change all that.
To increase the burn, keep your arms long and engage your core – which boosts your calories from 98 to 118.
4. Kneeling wheelbarrow
Start in the traditional doggy style, then get your partner to lift your legs one at a time – grasping you just above the knees.
Push yourself up on your hands while he kneels – and it should feel like you’re planking.
This targets the muscles in your arms and lower back, while allowing the same deep penetration as doggy style.

5. The arch
This is essentially an elevated missionary position, ladies have to lift their hips into a yoga position called the bridge.
While the man should be on his knees, with the woman holding the back of his thighs.
This is an intense full-body workout, where women work their calves, quads, core, lower and upper back, triceps and shoulders.
